Mood: Normal

Man, I haven't posted in a month! What have I done? Anyway, I went to the Big Game at Stanford University yesterday with Jason, Patrick, Alex, and Alisa. Here is what took place on that joyous day:

I woke up at around 7:45 to take a shower. I tried calling Jason to ask him if he's going to bring a backpack, but he didn't answer. I then decided to go to the Bank of America down at Telegraph to get change for some of the bills I had. After quickly doing that (I went down there by bike), I put my bike away in my dorm room, grabbed my backpack (loaded with my iPod, my camera, and my Beat Stanfurrd fan), and walked down to Crossroads, where I was to meet up with Patrick and Jason.

When I arrived at Crossroads, I didn't see Patrick or Jason anywhere. I had to wait a couple more minutes before they arrived. When they arrived, we got down to eating breakfast. Jen, Laney, Michelle, and Alex joined in as well. After we finished eating (around noon), Jason, Patrick, Alex, and I headed off to the bus stop along Bancroft Way.

However, while we were walking to Bancroft along College Avenue, we noticed a bus pass by. Jason thought that particular bus was the F bus, but insisted he was joking. We were not so sure. When we arrived, we noticed the sign on the bus stop indicates different times than what Jason had gotten from the Internet.

Guess what? It turns out he wasn't joking. We actually missed the F bus! On a lighter note, Alisa did manage to arrive a few minutes after we belatedly reached the bus. However, she had to go to the restroom really badly, so I showed her where the restroom was in nearby Kroeber Hall (my Chinese 7A class is in Kroeber Hall). After that stint, we boarded the bus a few minutes later and headed off to San Francisco. The big problem, though, was that there was SO MUCH traffic at the Bay Bridge! It was totally ridiculous! On the bright side, it did remind me of the traffic troubles of home, which was pretty cool.

So anyway, after that ridiculously long time on the freeway, we finally made it into San Francisco. We already missed the 1:30 p.m. train to Stanford, so we assured ourselves that we could make it to the 2:00 p.m. train. Turns out we were wrong. We made it at the station at 2:01 p.m. WE MISSED THE DAMN TRAIN BY ONE STUPID MINUTE!!!!!!!!!!! IT FUCKING SUCKS!!!!!!

We decided to catch the 3:00 p.m. train instead. In the meantime, we passed the time by playing Asshole. An interesting thing to note is that while we were waiting, Jason and Patrick saw some guy from Lehigh standing around at the station. They were so ecstatic about it because one of their friends, Brian Rincon, goes to Lehigh. Anyway, we took a group photo with that Lehigh guy. After waiting around some more, we boarded the train and headed off to Palo Alto for the Big Game.

After an hour of joyriding, we finally arrived at Stanford Stadium. We quickly got off and went with the crowd to the stadium. We managed to get seats (barely). But anyway, while the game itself was exciting, what made my day was the fact that my friend Kim was sitting behind me! It was during the middle of the second quarter that we both realized we were next to each other! It was hilarious! Anyway, she asked me if I could be in a pic with her, so I asked Alex to take a picture of the both of us. Now that I look at that photo, I look very weird in there. Oh well. We eventually won, 27-3.

Afterwards, we went to Stanford to tour the campus a bit. It was totally FLAT. So many bikes all over the place. And it was so HUGE. It took us thirty minutes just to get from the residence halls to the main entrance to Stanford ON FOOT (this was after touring the entire campus, so don't be confused). Anyway, after touring some of the insides of the residence halls there (thanks to several of Jason and Patrick's friends from Loyola), Jason's friend Lisa gave us a brief tour of the campus itself. We went through the quad, which is quite beautiful. Overall, I would actually rate this campus higher than Berkeley in terms of aesthetics.

At around 9, we headed for the train and headed back to San Francisco. We eschewed the bus, instead taking the BART back to Berkeley. However, once we reached the Berkeley BART station, Patrick, Alisa, and I noticed the 51 bus just parked right outside, so we made a mad dash to the bus. However, once we boarded, Jason and Alex were nowhere to be found (later on, I realized that they had to stop by a Washington Mutual to get some money). After that, I headed back to Bowles, where I enjoyed a nice night of rest.

Overall, it was pure sweetness.

Well, I gotta go. Later.
